2009 Past President, Association of Professional Landscape Designers- California Chapter
My garden life began kneeling beside my grandparents in their Maryland garden, and later bloomed in organic farming and IPM research in the 80’s. Having maintained public and private gardens for over twenty years, I now spend most of my time designing plant-centric gardens and sharing my experience with others through teaching, coaching, and writing.
Respect for the site, a pragmatic approach to space layout and a passion for aesthetics, balance, and order informs my design practice. But my true satisfaction lies with connecting people to their gardens, allowing the site tell the story, and giving both plants and people an opportunity to thrive in vibrant outdoor spaces.
My current projects center around my passion to bring beautiful edible and ecological landscapes to all kinds of gardens and gardeners.
